Semi-Permanent Makeup (PMU)
Micropigmentation is the implantation of pigment into the upper dermis of the skin. It is a form of tattooing, though shallower and with pigments designed to fade over 1-3 years. This is an advanced trade requiring specific certification and bloodborne pathogen training.
Technique: Uses a manual hand tool with a blade of tiny needles to scratch the skin and deposit pigment.
- Result: Realistic hair-like strokes.
- Best For: Dry to normal skin. Young, tight skin.
- Not For: Oily skin (strokes blur), mature/thin skin (trauma risk).
Safety & Risks
Because you are breaking the skin, the stakes are higher. You are liable for infection and scarring.
Sterile Needles Only
